Match report The only side we lost to this season did the double against us on Thursday

West Herts are a very organised team with a couple of good players, however, I do believe that Radlett played very well and we were unlucky to have have lost the match.

Radlett played with determination and passion and on another day we would have won with ease.

We lost the toss and were asked to bat. The boys played well and managed to get 249. A special mention to Rian for a couple of very good boundaries which resulted in him as the highest scoring batsman for the Radlett innings. We lost 7 seven wickets which made it very difficult to defend our total however, cricket is a strange game and a life lesson is never to give in.

The boys came out bowling well with good support in the field. All we had to do is not give silly runs away and try and get wickets. After 8 overs West Herts were on 252. With the task looking harder and harder Josh Morris came in for his second over hungry for a wicket. With one of the best deliveries of the season he took the bails off the stump and we were back in the game. Josh de Caires got a maiden and then in his last over he got two wickets.

West Herts scored 272 and now have won the league.

The six winners of the Under 9s section of the Herts league go through to a tournament. They will be joined by the top two second placed teams. Radlett are in the running for one of those spots if we win our match against St Albans on Monday 5th July (at St Albans)

A final point..... If we do get through to the end of season tournament .... we have a very good chance of winning it..... please pass this on to your children as they have all flourished as sportsmen and are now understanding and enjoying the wonderful sport of cricket ....
