Match report The Harpenden captain shook hands with Josh, the Radlett Vice Captain. The umpire tossed the coin and it landed on tails... We won and elected to field....

Stuart put in Josh and Kieran as the bowling attack for the first 4 overs... The Harpenden batsmen ran brilliantly between the wickets and quickly got to 11 from the first two overs... Wickets were needed and the boys delivered .... Josh got an edge from a wonderful delivery which was caught brilliantly by Rohan behind the stumps.... Kieran then bowled a straight full toss which beat the batsman and hit the middle stump.....

Next in were Stuart and Rohan who bowled with passion and vigour. Rohan got a well deserved wicket....

Half way through the innings Radlett had restricted Harpenden to 21 runs and taken 3 wickets....

Rian and Dylan bowled straight giving only 3 wides in their 4 overs... No wickets but plenty of determination and passion...

The last pair of Daniel and Arnav worked well together and kept Harpenden pegged to 256.... If we had been more aggressive in the field and held on to some of the catching opportunities the score
would have been even better

The opening batsmen …. Stuart and Josh …. were fast and furious and looked like they were going to reach the target of 257 in their four overs. Josh hit 5 boundaries and was wonderfully supported by Stuart who played a very intelligent innings. With the score on 40 after 4 overs … the next pair of Daniel and Arnav lost a couple of wickets but still managed to take the score to 258 after 4 overs. Kieran and Dylan came in and started slowly but settled in and found their range scoring 24 runs and losing two wickets. The last pair of Rohan and Rian worked very well together and scored 33 runs taking the final score to 315

This was a wonderful result….not simply because Radlett won …. but ….. the team really worked as a unit and are becoming thinking cricketers.
