Match report Radlett overcame injury and illness to win by another convincing margin.Simeon resplendent in a turban like bandage truned out despite a visit to hospital to patch up his head.Harry fell ill on the morning of the match and his place was taken by Jamie Curran.
Tring 2 were stronger than Tring 1 but I was still disappointed with our batting. Bad balls were not punished enough and I didn't feel we looked secure enough at the crease despite the fact the bowling was pretty unthreatening.Joe and Simeon batted well together scoring 11 and 10 respectively. Joe should have scored more heavily however and was bowled by a soft ball that he would have hit for 4 more times than not.Will hit 18 but was caught on the midwicket boundary by an excellent low catch.Again the running between Joe/Simeon and Will/Dylan was superb.
Lesson to be learned by all our batsman; WATCH THE BALL.
Our bowling and fielding was again excellent. Despite missing Harry the boys bowled a lot of wicket taking deliveries.Simeon picked up 2 but was smashed for the first 6 off our attack this year.I think that wounded him far more than the head cut!!
Will bowled 2 in an over and was pacy and accurate.It was pleasing to see Udeepa get back to something like his best and also for Dylan to claim a couple of wickets.
There was also some outstanding fielding.Joe took a catch and ran out a batsman with a direct hit. Jaimin and Udeepa rivalled Joe for the strongest arm in the field with some excellent retrieving and returning.
All in all it was a big win with many good points. I still feel we did not have full focus today and that could have cost us against a stronger side.
Champagne moments;Udeepa regaining confidence with the ball and fielding superbly.
