Match report An emphatic win keeps the unbeaten record going. Radlett won the toss and again elected to set a target. Shenley LC had 2 fine opening bowlers and they soon had Radlett struggling, both openers being bowled. Radlett then regrouped and scored steadily.Shenley lacked strength in depth and their weaker bowlers had the misfortune to bowl at Harry 'Hazza' Copley and Jaimin who plundered 49 runs.Harry hit a powerful 21 but I thought Jaimin played some wonderfully cultured shots in his best score of the season, 12 not out. Will hit 10 and together with Dylan ran some incredible runs that nearly gave the watching parents heart seizures. It was reassuring to see Deven Patel patrolling the boundary just in case it became too much!
Shenly started off well, although their strong opening pair were well shackled by Will, Simeon and Harry.Jaimin made the breakthrough in the 6th over with Will snaffling a lunging catch.Then came the pivotal 8th over. Shenley were still in the game at 227 -1until Will struck 3 times in 5 balls.Harry took 2 fine catches behind the stumps before Will bowled the number 4 to set up a hat trick chance. It didn't happen but victory was sealed when Simeon and Harry came back to claim a victim each, both clean bowled.
This was a strong team performance. All the boys played their part and their fine bowling and fielding ensured that a game Shenley side finished some way short.
No man of the match-it was a true TEAM performance. Champagne moment was that 3 wicket burst in 5 balls that effectively killed the game.
