Match report Radlett came out on top in a closely contested game at Edge Grove. The sweltering heat had a sophorific effect on the boys batting. A fairly listless peformance coupled with some good bowling from Chorleywood meant that we scraped to 257 despite losing only 2 wickets. Chorleywood had one absoutely outstanding fielder who personally must have cut down the score by about 10 runs while also catching Fergus. Will top scored with 12 while Harry backed up with 8.
With a low total to defend it was clear the boys would have to bowl and field well,particularly when it became clear that Chorleywood had 2 really fine batsmen who scored quickly in each of their first 2 pairs. Simeon dismissed one of them with a nicley worked caught and bowled from a well flighted delivery before Joe blew away the later batsmen with a superb 4 wicket haul. Joe hadn't really hit form with the ball this season but he was back with a vengeance today. Joe's burst of wickets meant that the final winning margin flattered us a bit but it was still another solid display.
Champagne moment-Joe returning to form bowling with pace and accuracy.Great stuff.
