Match report A good performance but we were helped by one of Shenley Village's players not turning up. That meant that they were restricted to 12 overs to get the highly respectable 16 over target of 273. Thanks to tight bowling, Shenley Village never got close but you have to feel sorry for their manager and players for being let down so badly.
Had it been 8v 8 I still think we would have won-but it would have been tight. Shenley Village were far and away the best team we have faced so far and had several quality players. It is a credit to our boys that they did not hit a single boundary.
Radlett started shakily losing their 3 wickets inside the first 4 overs. Another silly runout did not please the coach!
The boys then batted very steadily to repair the damage. Joe, with 13, Jaimin with 8 and Harry with 9 got us back on track. Dylan and William then put the icing on the cake with an unbeaten stand of 37 to finish off. Will's first shot nearly went for 6 and he hit a fine 18.Dylan again was fine support.
The bowling figures do not look too flash-partly because 4 catches went down. Another reason was that Shenley Village had 2 or 3 really good batsman who could strike the ball well. The earlier games only required a ball on the stumps to get wickets:this was much tougher. Credit to William and Harry who bowled quickly and straight to limit the strong Shenley Village players. All 8 boys deserve credit for protecting the short boundaries so efficiently.
Jaimin again took a fine catch but champagne moment was Will's first ball strike which nearly went for 6.
