Match report A convincing win, not as crushing as the last two but then again not such a convincing performance. After merrily telling the Harpenden manager how good we were at running between the wickets it was inevitable that we should suffer two farcical run outs. Harpenden's attack was scatter gun but the extras tally was not as high as it should have been thanks to some, shall we say charitable umpiring. Again ,having been quick to praise the boys for the high number of double figure scores this season I should take the blame for the fact there was only one tonight, Will cracking a fine 17. The gloss was taken off his knock when trying to reach a wide he overbalanced and was out hit wicket. Soft is not the word! Harry and Udeepa backed up well with 9 each.
Even our bowling was a bit off colour tonight with a few too many extras and some lack lustre fielding. Perhaps it was the cold-certainly the sloping pitch did not help. Having said that Jaimin Patel took a blinding catch and bowled superbly. Dylan Doshi also bowled a good spell and picked up a wicket. Will conceded only two runs and got a wicket with the last ball of the night.
Champagne moment- Jaimin's catch.Just when I thought the boys had all frozen to death he sparked the team back into life diving at mid on to scoop up the ball inches from the deck.
