Match report Radlett U9s enjoyed an emphatic win away to an inexperienced Tring side. Radlett batted first and scored heavily throughout the innings. The batsmen faced problems finding balls to hit amongst the flurry of no balls and wides.However, that did not stop Harry Copley who bludgeoned 25 with some confident blows. He was well backed up by Joe Lewis and William Wright who both scored 13 and played some quality strokes. At no stage last year did we have 3 batsmen reaching double figures.
Radlett closed on 327 net or 351-3, again a much bigger total than any scored last year.
The strength of this side is in the bowling however and Tring found it really hard going. Udeepa Meepagama ran out one of the openers with a brilliant underarm throw which set the tone for a disciplined fielding performance. Only 10 extras were conceded. All the bowlers did well, particularly Fergus Browne who picked up 3 with 2 good catches and a sharp stumping by Will, and Simeon Cohen who also got 3 with some accurate deliveries. Tring limped to 173 or 253-10. Margin of victory a crushing 154 runs.
The boys did really well as a unit and if they can maintain that level of performance should have a good season.
