Match report An excellent cricket match against a decent Tring Park side. Radlett lost the toss and were asked to bowl first on a chilly Monday evening.

I am not sure what the boys had for lunch, but they were definately fired up for the game! Radlett put in possibly the best bowling and fielding display that I have witnessed in a team so young. Every catch was snaffled, bowling lines were tight and the ground fielding was impeccable. A great display from all the bowlers & fielders, with a special mention for the skipper James McCallum (3 wickets) and Rahil Thapar (4 wickets). Our wicket keeper, Harry Scott, also deserves a special mention for his involvement in a classic stumping; a combination of flight, drift & turn from the bowler and very, very nifty handwork by the keeper!

Faced with a target of 195, Radlett batted sensibly to begin with. A good batting display by Piers Dorward, Max Sahota and James Mccallum meant the job was done early during the innings. Once again, poor judgement with the run calling cost Radlett a few unnecessary wickets, however it's early days in the new season and I am sure the skills required to assess a run will be enhanced over the next few training sessions.

Whilst the scoring wasn't as quick and furious as the boys would have hoped, a faultless display of bowling and fielding, and a sensible approach to batting safely secured the first win of the season.
