Match report A high quality game ended in a narrow defeat.Radlett's openers perished softly in successive balls, Tom getting through his shot early to squirt to point and Will strangled next ball down the leg side.Jaimin and Rohan repaired the damage with a solid and increasingly assured stand.Rohan looked imperious as he leaned powerfully into his shots while Jaimin looked impressive off his pads.Hazza came in and gave the innings a final bit of impetus as he clattered the final 4 Shenley bowlers with some bruising shots including one fabulous (almost) straight six.
123 looked a big score to be honest,particularly in the gloom but Shenley had some quality batsmen.Harley, their left handed opener in particular drove really nicely before being run out.Will and Harry bowled tidily, but Haftel in at 4 for the home side was very strong off his pads and unfortunately we didnt seem to be able to keep it away from his leg stump!Mayowa also played well but his stumping gave us a glimmer of hope as Harman came on and showed the merit of bowling straight to a line outside off as he snaffled 3 wickets.Shenley showed the odd wobble towards the end but secured the win with a 4 off the 3rd ball of the last over. A tight, high quality match.
It was a bit unfortunate for us that Simeon took a heavy tumble in the field and hurt his shoulder.I knew it was REALLY serious when he was unable to bowl-noone at Radlett has ever heard Simeon willingly not bowl!!!
On a serious note, Simeon has chipped a bone in his shoulder and will be out for 2 weeks.We shall miss him as well as Joe Lewis who had an operation on his elbow on wednesday.Get well soon lads.
