On another sweltering evening, Radlett B/C comprehensively beat Old Albanians with a dominant batting display. It did not start like that Old Albanians were the recipients of some wild bowling early on, Paul sandiford having a torrid initial over going for 17 runs. However he still managed to take a wicket with a quality yorker to OA’s strongest batter. At the other end Dylan Baskaran bowled an excellent length & only went for 2 runs in his 2 overs. We decided for everyone to bowl again & though there were too many extras, the irregular bowlers did not let us down. Akhil Shah took 3 wickets including an excellent caught & bowled. Roshan Baskaran took 2 for 5 at the death. Luca only went for 1 run. Jake Jones & Daniel Cohen shared wicket keeping duties.The score was restricted to 96/7.
In reply Luca Guerini & Ragu Subramanian showed their class scoring 51 runs in 6 overs. They were retired & Jake Jones continued the onslaught with 12 quick runs. Paul Sandiford was retired on 8. Tom Kelly was 11 not out & ran well. It was good to have Stelli Iasnos back in the team & he executed a class run out with Luca.
It was a good team display & a match comfortably won in the end. Old Albanians will be gunning for us in the return!
