On a sunny Sunday morning, Radlett made it to Leverstock Green despite lack of transport. Radlett batted first & Ragu Subramanian continued with his rich vein of form with 52 runs as opener. He was well supported by Neel Malde (29). Radlett were pegged back in the last 5 overs but Paul Sandiford & Baiju Ganatra got us to a respectable 110/5.
Rushab Shah took an early wicket but then Merrett took advantage of being dropped to score a rapid 47.However, Roshan Baskarran bowled very tidily to take 2 wickets & Radlett were in with a chance. Paul Sandiford bowled with good pace, taking 1 for 11 in his 3 overs. & Krishen Majithia bowled a steady spell to take 2 wickets. Rahul bowled an over at the death to take 1 for 3. Marshall Cant only gave away 2 byes in his first match as wicket keeper. Considering we had 2 late replacements we performed really well.
Some fielding errors cost us again & we narrowly lost in the 19th over. But lots of positives can be taken from this performance with everyone contributing to the team effort. Being Father’s Day there was no support for the team but hopefully we will have some for the last fixture versus Hemel Hempstead on Wednesday week 29/6.
