The weather relented to allow this fixture to take place. Dunstable’s A team proved to be a quality outfit & constructed their innings with relentless efficiency. After 2 overs they had 22 runs, then Dhylan Baskkaran had their opener caught by Ragu Subramanian.. Jai Shah & Dhylan then put the brakes on & they were well supported by Paul Sandford. However, the scoring rate increased to nearly 8 an over, & our later bowlers were punished. Neel Malde had the consolation of 2 good wickets.
In reply we had a disastrous start with Ragu slipping on the second ball & was run out. Malde & Sharma once again put on a good partnership of 34 runs until the 9th over. We then had a middle order collapse, & only Matt Soffair with 16 not out got into double figures.
The quality of the opposition in this League has been extremely strong & our B team are fighting well & until this result, had competed well with the opposition. The remaining matches should be more even.
