West Herts v Radlett CC U15 on Thu 02 Jun 2005 at 6pm
Radlett CC Won 92 runs

Match report On a breezy summer’s evening, Radlett opened their innings with Matt Soffair (3) and Ameer Kamal (22n.o). Both Openers made a steady start but the partnership was soon at an end when Soffair skied a full toss. Kailash Morjaria (88n.o) arrived at the crease to resume his purple patch. By the 13th over the score had moved to 81 with Kailash despatching 4’s to all parts of the ground off poor West Herts bowling. Ameer was retired after completing a 71 run partnership with Kailash, to allow other batsmen a chance to have a bat. In the end, Kailash was unlucky not to complete his 100. For West Herts, Saquib was the pick of their bowlers.

West Herts openers made a good start and reached 21 without loss in the first 4 overs. However, steady bowling from Hemel Malde (1-11 off 2 overs), Neel Malde (2-4 off 2 overs), Phil Simmons (1-4 off 3 overs), who perhaps was unlucky not to take a few more wickets, and Parag Shah (3-5 off 2 overs) ripped through the West Herts batting.

Kailash Morjaria was exceptional behind the stumps, stumping 5 of the West Herts batsmen.

A special word of praise must go to Phil Simmons for not reacting to one of the home players’ shouting racial abuse. The offender was made to apologise to Phil and the rest of the Radlett team.
