Match report Lee Greenland batted almost through the Radlett V innings to provide the only highlight of a very disappointing seven-wicket defeat by Frogmore at Park Street.

Frogmore, a first team, looked reasonable promotion bets from Division 11 on this evidence, but they encountered little resistance from a Radlett side that was supposed to be strong. Greenland's 46 apart, Radlett's batting was abysmal on a very slow but sound pitch. Too few batsmen seemed prepared to wait for the right ball to hit and only two reached double figures in the score of 95.

Bill Marshall, on loan as scorer from the inactive second team, was given an easy time, as he was back home by about 5pm. Frogmore took only 15.5 overs to knock off the runs with possible rain in mind. One of their four sixes struck Pete Wharton's van, heightening the owner's misery.

Radlett lost Ben Thormhill, on a welcome return to cricket, to the second ball of the day -- a flash at a short wide one, and a series of miscues accounted for four more quick wickets. Satish Pandey struck three clean fours before his bat got tangled in his back pad as he pushed forward, and his leg stump flew out of the ground. Jon Armitage, on his debut, was clean bowled for a duck after leaving a ball that was dangerously straight.

Greenland refused to be phased by some dreadful batting at the other end, but there was little he could do. The ninth-wicket stand of 21 with Charlie Randall was the highest of the innings.
