Match report On the back of a fantastic win at home to High Wycombe, Radlett were away to champions Henley. When the two sides met last summer, Henley dominated the first leg and Radlett dominated the second with rain coming to Henleys rescue.

Radlett won a good toss and elected to bowl on a baking day. This decision was fully justified as Radlett outperformed Henley in the opening session. Tight opening spells from Burger and Corran saw Henley making very slow progress. Burger got the break through by nicking off opener Barnes and Heith Paynter immediately got the key wicket of McLean. Henley reconsolidated, but with disciplined bowling and a very good fielding unit runs were hard to come by. Radlett claimed the two important wickets of Roberts and Mordt before lunch left Henley at 87 for 4.

The opening of the post lunch session followed a similar pattern, with Toor picking up two more wickets. What happened next is difficult to comprehend. Following a period of relative quiet, ex-Leicestershire boy Carl Crowe and Ferguson produced a savage counteract. Utilising the short boundaries, Henley put on 150 in the last 15 overs with Crowe finishing on 107*.

Chasing 292 to win, Radlett crumbled through a combination of good swing bowling by Lambert and poor shot selection. The less said the better. Only Mike Crocker stood up to the Henley attack and produced an aggressive unbeaten 47 to earn Radlett one batting point as their innings disappointedly ended on just 109.

The boys are very keen to get their season back on track, as they entertain Potters Bar at Fort Cobden Hill next week.
