Match report Debut all-rounder Nick Ingram - yes, brother of the other one - took four wickets as Radlett cruised to their second victory in succession. The eight-wicket margin reflected the difference between the sides, and Preston, enduring a terrible start to their season, looked like relegation candidates, but Radlett did the job well at Cobden Hill.

Radlett's skipper Jamie Wells might have to hire the Albert Hall for any squad meetings by the end of the season, as only three players remained from the opening match, a defeat, two weeks previously.

`Meepa' Meepagama again bowled consistently, this time for an amazing 25 overs to tie down the opposition batting, though he had to wait until his 20th over for his second wicket. Preston, after winning the toss, reached 70 for one before having their hopes of a decent total dashed by the introduction of Ingram's medium-paced cutters. Ingram struck with his second ball, bowled no stroke, and gouged out the middle order.

Radlett were sharp in the field, and Andrew Brant held two catches and produced a run-out with a slick stop and turn at short extra cover. Meepagama eventually claimed his reward for a long accurate spell another two wickets.

Batting was no problem on a good pitch, and Matt Bell punched 67, containing 11 fours and a six, in an opening stand of 83 with actor Ollie Jackson, another newcomer, who offered an imaginative interpretation of a club batsman.
