Match report This was a good quality, well-contested match on an excellent hard pitch. Shenley's total was built on a fine 76 by their recent West Indian import, Jose, who played some exhilarating shots until finally succumbing to a cunning slower ball from Cilla. Tight bowling from all the Radlett seamers managed to keep things under control, depriving Jose of the strike for lengthy periods. Opener Faz, dropped three times, contributed the next highest score of 46.

Shenley's opening bowlers gained found bounce and movement and bowled with discipline, to make their total of 179 more competitive than it first seemed. The search for quick singles cost Radlett the wicket of Andy Hayes in the tenth over with the score at 24. Cilla found the going equally tough, edging Jose to slip for just 4, eight overs later. However, opener Colin Warne had managed to keep the scoreboard ticking along at three an over and reduced the pressure significantly by taking 12 off Jose's next over to bring up his 50. Seeking to keep up the momentum, Warne lost his off stump next over for 54 with the score on 82. The asking rate was now a respectable 98 off 19 overs. Shenley's later bowlers proved more accomodating, enabling Softee and "Golden Pot" Ollie to raise the pace further with some aggressive strokeplay. When Softee failed to make his ground on an impossible single (even for one of lesser bulk) just 31 were needed off 8 overs. Ollie and Coco ensured there would be no mistake, with Ollie ending the game in the 37th over with a four to bring up his 50.
