Match report On Saturday, Radlett crashed to their first league defeat of the season. Seemingly cruising to victory at 136-3, requiring only another 110 to win, the batting collapsed to the spin of Stevenage's Azhar Ali (7-53).

Haydn Smith won the toss for Radlett and asked Stevenage to bat. The decision seemed to have been a good one as Shane Burger removed both Mushti Ur Rehman and Ali Kazmi, with only 36 runs on the board. Stuart Browne continued to contain the batsmen at one end but the Radlett bowlers were to have no further success until after lunch. By then, Naseer Ahmed and David Carr had consolidated their partnership and extended it beyond a 100 and seen off Radlett's young spinners. It took the return of Burger to break the partnership when he dismissed Ahmed for 52. Carr was finally bowled for 86 by Browne who, rejuvinated, added two further wickets as Stevenage attempted to further accelerate the run-rate.Stevenage finished on 245-8, with Burger taking 5 for 82 and Browne 3 for 49, both off 20 overs.

Radlett's reply suffered an early setback when Azhar Ali clean bowled Fielden for only four. Rob Smith joined Nick Hampton and took the game to Stevenage as they built a century partnership despite some testing bouncers from Stevenage's Berg, with Hampton taking a particularly painful blow to the throat. Both then fell to Ali Kazmi, and the rest then succumbed to Azhar Ali. Radlett moved from 136-3 to 180 all out as the normally robust middle order failed to find the answers to Ali's spin.

Radlett now return to a weekend of cricket at home with Potters Bar being the visitors in the league on Saturday and West Herts returning to the scene of their only league defeat this season, this time to play a Becker Transport Trophy quarterfinal.
