RCC 125th Anniversary
Golden Oldies Reunion
Everyone invited to join in the celebrations
On Bank Holiday Monday May 25th 2009 there will be a reunion of 65 players who played for the Club in 1975 and before. We will be welcoming no less than 33 Captains and Vice-Captains of various elevens who played in 1975 or before. There will be others who have served in equally meritorious capacities such as Fixture Secretary, Team Secretary, Subscription Secretary, Groundsman and Colts Secretary etc.
They will be treated to a sumptuous lunch and tea for which the Radlett ladies are renowned. The current Committee will also be present to bring them up to date with the latest news and developments. The oldest member will be Chas Burton who opened the bowling in 1938 and is now 86. The most distinguished member present will be Donald Carr, now 82, who captained England against India in the 1951-52 series. Arguably, the three most worthy to be called ‘Golden’ to be present, for having served the Club in so many ways and for so many years, will be our four Life Members – John Clark, Bill Marshall, John Tattersall and Doreen Browne.
There are sufficient players for a 20/20 match starting at 3.00pm.
As we already have 100 for lunch, we cannot take any more bookings for lunch, but you are welcome to come and join this happy band from 12 noon onwards.
The majority of those in the photo at a previous reunion in 1979, will also be present this year, 30 years on:
