      Friday 10 July

Well Done to all the Firewalkers and sponsors. A great event and well attended. This turned out to be a fab club evening- one that had people staying past the BBQ and into the (well nearly) small hours.

Now is the time to collect the sponsor money (or pay it)

Deadline for hand in is End of July.

Watch this space for the total amount raised.

        RCC 125th Anniversary
        Golden Oldies Reunion

Everyone invited to join in the celebrations

On Bank Holiday Monday May 25th 2009 there will be a reunion of 65 players who played for the Club in 1975 and before.  We will be welcoming no less than 33 Captains and Vice-Captains of various elevens who played in 1975 or before.  There will be others who have served in equally meritorious capacities such as Fixture Secretary, Team Secretary, Subscription Secretary, Groundsman and Colts Secretary etc.

They will be treated to a sumptuous lunch and tea for which the Radlett ladies are renowned. The current Committee will also be present to bring them up to date with the latest news and developments.  The oldest member will be Chas Burton who opened the bowling in 1938 and is now 86.  The most distinguished member present will be Donald Carr, now 82, who captained England against India in the 1951-52 series.  Arguably, the three most worthy to be called ‘Golden’ to be present, for having served the Club in so many ways and for so many years, will be our four Life Members – John Clark, Bill Marshall, John Tattersall and Doreen Browne.

There are sufficient players for a 20/20 match starting at 3.00pm.
As we already have 100 for lunch, we cannot take any more bookings for lunch, but you are welcome to come and join this happy band from 12 noon onwards.

The majority of those in the photo at a previous reunion in 1979, will also be present this year, 30 years on:

Radlett players prominent for Hertfordshire 50+ and 60+

Keith Jenkin, our distinguished former Hon. Treasurer and player, was a founder member of the Herts 50+ in 1988 entering the National Championship.  Last season in 2008, Radlett provided more players for the County at these age groups than any other Club - Mike Dexter (current Hon. Sec), Tony Johnson (Vice-Captain of the 50+ A Team who beat Surrey to win the Home Counties Championship in 2008), David Robinson (topping the 50+ batting averages in 2006 and 2007), Colin Warne, Mark Harrington and Jon Lederman.  Dominic Ingram and Tim Smithers have also featured in earlier years.  Mike Dexter has played 132 matches for 3,511 runs @ 31.92, Tony Johnson 107 matches for 1,929 runs @ 27.17 and David Robinson 25 matches for 1,347 runs @ 64.14.  In 2002, Radlett hosted the 50+ A Team Home Counties Championship Final in which Hertfordshire triumphed over Kent.  There is now a Hertfordshire 70+ team!
